In December, 2007, seeing that her daughters toy bin was filling with unacceptable, boring toys she decided to take matters into her own hands. Within weeks she had fallen in love with the creation of plush oddities and opened an online shop with a few plush creations. The rest is history. Since her online shop opened in January 2008, Sarah has sewn thousands of plushies and created hundreds of unique characters for appreciative weirdos all over the world.
Her creations appeal to all ages and her twisted sense of humor makes them a snarky gift for the hard-to-shop-for person on your Christmas list. Who wouldn't chuckle at a mutated lab rat or evil penguin?
Most of her creations are individually sketched directly on the fabric and consequently, each creation has a wild, unpredictable personality and is a true one of a kind item.
In 2010, looking for creative support, Sarah formed the first Las Vegas Etsy team, Handmade in Vegas, and the group very quickly exploded to over 200 members. She is dedicated to giving her local community what she calls "strip mall alternatives" and participates in many local events to expose her neighbors to indie arts and crafts. She has been an active seller at the amazing local art event, First Friday, since June 2010. You can find her selling there the first Friday of every month on the sidewalk just north of The Funk House at 1228 S. Casino Center Blvd. She always has new products and one of a kind items there that are not for sale on her website in addition to her regular items.
